"There are now half a million less people unemployed than was expected in last November's pre-Budget Report providing a saving of £2 billion per year to the taxpayer." said Labour & Co-operative Candidate for Swansea West Geraint Davies.
"Improving economic growth means we can both invest in jobs and pay back debt more quickly."
"Lower stamp duty for first time buyers, lower business rates for small business and increased tax credits means home buyers, small business and families will benefit in Swansea" said Geraint Davies.
"Small business will be entitled to a 15% increase in their share of Government contracts with 80% payment within 5 days.Meanwhile the big banks RBS & Lloyds which are largely publically owned will have to lend more to small business. Pensioners see higher incomes and the Winter Fuel Allowance of £250 (and £400 for over 80s) protected.
The bankers will pay extra taxes. The 50% on bonuses raised over £2billion is alongside 50% on earnings over £150,000 and 5% stamp duty on houses valued at over £1million. People I've spoken to in Swansea all tell me that those who have benefited most should pay their fair share and will be pleased that 60% of extra tax raised will be from the top 5% of earners in Britain."
"Labour' has protected jobs and focused on growth instead of giving in to calls for early deep cuts from the Conservatives and 'savage cuts' from Lib Dem Nick Clegg that would be so damaging in Swansea" said Labour & Co-operative Candidate for Swansea West Geraint Davies. |
