Geraint Davies joined unhappy Uplands residents opposing the closure of their local Brynmill Library.
"The Library has provided a valued service to Uplands families and the community are very unhappy with the idea of a mobile library to replace it" said Labour Parliamentary Candidate Geraint Davies
"My children learnt to read using Brynmill Library and many Uplands families like ours are strongly opposed to the removal of this important service without proper consultation. Senior citizens are also heavy users of the Library. The local councillors should hang their heads in shame in particular the one who calls himself the Older People's Champion" said local resident Nick Davies
"My children use Brynmill Library as it is local, convenient and personal. They don't want to travel miles and cross busy roads to get to a library. This closure means that Uplands children and the elderly will be denied access to local library facilities." said Kate Ronconi-Woollard mother of two.
"The idea of using a mobile facility intended for rural areas is the latest absurd result of the Liberal Democrats cash crisis in Swansea." said Labour's Geraint Davies
