Schools across Swansea have been told to make redundancies as the Lib Dems won't fund the £2.4 million pay award yet now have to pay £1.1 million in redundancy payments.
"The Council should fund the £2.4 million teachers pay award to avoid sacking teachers. It would only cost £1.3 million as the Lib Dems are losing £1.1 million in redundancy payments to sack front line teachers who are crucial for our children's futures. They have £14 million in reserves that could be used" said Dylan Thomas School Governor and Labour candidate Geraint Davies
