   Supporting the disadvantaged

Geraint is involved in a number of campaigns aimed at helping the disadvantaged in society.

REMPLOY: It was announced on March 7, 2012 that Remploy factories would close following a UK Government review. More than 50 staff at the Remploy factory in Bruce Road in Fforestfach will be affected.
It is proposed that Government funding will come to an end as soon as possible. The funding will then be used to support more disabled people in mainstream employment. Geraint has repeatedly spoken up for the need to keep these factories going.

CREDIT CARD REGULATION: In June 2010, Geraint introduced a bill into parliament that penalises credit card companies that allow computer users to download images of abuse.

This proposed law has the support of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.

The Credit Regulation (Child Pornography) Bill will require government backing if it is to have any chance of getting onto the statute book.
