For many of us, the novelty of Brexit has worn off. Once the emotionally charged debates around sovereignty, democracy and migration gave way to highly technical conversations about the intricate procedures of the House of Commons, people started drifting off. They were famously fatigued.

But this impending boredom is only a minor symptom of the colossal impact Brexit is having – and will continue to have – on our mental health.

There’s been a massive deterioration in children’s mental health, much of it linked to poverty and a chronic shortage of psychiatrists. So, the fact so many UK psychiatrists are from the EU means Brexit sounds alarm bells for our children’s mental health.
