A Swansea MP is supporting the hunger-striking husband of a woman detained in Iran.

Geraint Davies, Swansea West MP, has offered his backing to Richard Ratcliffe, whos has been outside the Iranian embassy in London to protest the continued imprisonment of his wide, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was arrested while on holiday in Iran on suspicion of “running a journalism course aimed at recruiting and training people to spread propaganda against Iran.”

Mr Ratcliffe has been collecting comments in a journal, in which Mr Davies wrote: “The people of Swansea’s hearts and minds are with you, wishing for the early release of your wife Nazanin and you the strength to help ensure her early release, with the UK MPs in full support.” 

Mr Davies received many emails and messages from constituents supporting Mr Ratcliffe’s hunger strike.
